      Q47   Visitors, 40% are children, 3/4 of the adults are women. (a) what is the ratio of children:men:women.  (b) the second day, children number increased by 20%, adults number remain the same but women is 3/5 of adult. if there are 336 more children than women, how many visitors on second day

      Q46   A millipede is climbing up a wall.
      For every 3cm it climbs, it slips by 1cm.
      It takes 3 seconds to climb 1 cm and 1 second to slip by 1cm.

      (a) How far would the millipede have climbed after 1 minute?
      (b) How long would the millipede take to climb 56cm?

       Anyone has questions for Q43, Q44, Q45 ?

      Q48)

      taking care of the extras ->1/4 x 20 = 5

      G and B are now of equal units. therefore all those not there are -> 5+1/4g + 1/3g = 19

      7/12g = 14

      g= 24, b = 24+20 = 44

      24+44 = 68

      @Firepig: lol note your ratio, your men and women reversed liao, else i agree with your answer for 47

      46a) for every 3 cm climbed (3 x 3sec) it slips 1 cm (1sec)

      total time spent climbing a total of 2 cm is 10sec (includes climbing and slipping)

      1minute -> 60 sec thus 6 sets of 2 cm climbed. distance traveled will be 6 x 2cm = 12cm.

      b)To climb 56 cm, 56/12= 4minute 40sec

    • hard man... dont always use break up as a way to win an arguement. All it does is to create a larger crack between the 2 of you. Sooner or later the relationship will crumble due to these cracks.

      anyway, I think he is probably enjoying his singlehood for now. What you can do is to move on. Carry on with your life. If you love him, no harm keeping him in a corner of your heart. Let him enjoy abit and one day, if he still loves you, he will be back. Then it will be up to you to see if you accept him. If another better person comes round while he still hasnt come back, then maybe you would want to consider giving him up.

    • Since many of the fortune telling (I dont know what is the specific name) uses date of birth and time of birth of you or ur parents to calculate, all things that the fortune tellers calculated should be the same. How come there is such a big difference in price when we go to different shops in fu lu shou to seek advice?

      Also, since all these are fixed, as in the masters also calculate using the tong shu, why cant this process be automated into a computer software whereby everyone can just key into the computer the date and time of birth and the computer generate a report instantly?

      The directed sum of the electrical potential differences around any closed circuit must be zero. -kirchoff's 2nd law

      how is this law applicable to the 2 cases ah?

    • This is not my homework but rather something that suddenly occurred to me. batteries and bulbs are somethings i see often but yet i dont seem to have complete knowledge of. please enlighten me :)

      say i connected 3 batteries in series to a bulb. the bulb lights up. now i swap the polarity of one of the 3 batteries. what will happen?

      -the bulb becomes dimmer (due to the opposing current of the reversed battery)

      or

      -the circuit will not light up at all (due to the reversed battery blocking all the current)

      next scenario

      I connected 2 batteries in series and another battery in parallel but in the opposing direction to a bulb. what will happen?

      -the bulb becomes dimmer (due to the opposing current of the reversed battery)

      or

      -the circuit will not light up at all (due to the reversed battery blocking all the current)

      or

      -no effect at all. the bulb will shine as if there isnt any battery connected in parallel.

    • if you wan you can draw models but i am lazy.. i'll just tell you the steps

      Amy: 4 units

      D: 5 units

      ________________________

      D:6 units

      Alice: 8units

      Comparing D on top and below, we know the LCM (lowest common multiple) is 30 therefore for the 5 units on top for D, you need to divide each unit into 6 parts to get 30. For Amy, you'll also need to divide each part into 6 = 24 parts

      For the D at the bottom, to get 30, you'll need to divide each unit by 5. for each of Alice's 8 units, divide them into 5 parts also and u'll get 40 units

      therefore the ratio is 24:30:40, in simplest form = 12:15:20

      Quad core Q9300

      A motherboard that has lan, pci-e 2.0, VGA, dual channel ddr2 (need expert's recommendation biostar good anot? saw it at bliss)

      2gb ddr2 667mhz - heard this is the most window xp 32bit can handle?

      320gb hdd sata

      a pci-e 256mb gpu... no frills one can le.. no need anything spectacular

      a PSU that can support 3 hdd and 2 dvd drives

      All the rest i can transfer from my old set up.

      How much do you guys think this set up will cost me? I am thinking of quad core for future expansion... i dont wan to have trouble playing diablo 3 in 2 years time lol.

    • I think chelsea has ran out of patience for lamps already. they repeatedly offered him contract but all was rejected by him. Since he like to hang up and sell, now solari also play mind games with him, telling him that chelsea can survive with or without him.
