China space mission article hits Web before launch
<!-- end storyhdr -->BEIJING - A news story describing a successful launch of China's long-awaited space mission and including detailed dialogue between astronauts launched on the Internet Thursday, hours before the rocket had even left the ground.
The country's official news agency Xinhua posted the article on its Web site Thursday, and remained there for much of the day before it was taken down.
A staffer from the Xinhuanet.com Web site who answered the phone Thursday said the posting of the article was a "technical error" by a technician. The staffer refused to give his name as is common among Chinese officials.
The arcticle, dated two days from now on Sept. 27, vividly described the rocket in flight, complete with a sharply detailed dialogue between the three astronauts.
Excerpts are below:
"After this order, signal lights all were switched on, various data show up on rows of screens, hundreds of technicians staring at the screens, without missing any slightest changes ...
'One minute to go!'
'Changjiang No.1 found the target!'...
"The firm voice of the controller broke the silence of the whole ship. Now, the target is captured 12 seconds ahead of the predicted time ...
'The air pressure in the cabin is normal!'
"Ten minutes later, the ship disappears below the horizon. Warm clapping and excited cheering breaks the night sky, echoing across the silent Pacific Ocean."

A Singapore Spy story : A British traitor who spied fir the Japanese is honoured at the Kranji War Memorial :
Japanese spy listed on Kranji war memorial
<!-- by -->By Alec Marsh
THE family of a soldier who served in the Second World War has called on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to remove the name of a Japanese spy from a memorial stone of British dead in Singapore.
The request followed the discovery of the traitor's identity and the revelation that his name was engraved just inches from their relative's, who was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and was an acting brigadier when he was killed in action in South-East Asia.
The identity of the spy, Capt Patrick Heenan, who passed secrets about British air bases in northern Malaya to the Japanese, remained largely unknown until the publication of a book describing his role in the defeat of the Commonwealth forces in the Far East.
Robert Moorhead, from Kent, learned that the name of a traitor had been placed just two names from his father's, and next to a George Cross holder.
Mr Moorhead, 70, said a letter had been written to the commission asking for the traitor's name to be struck off the memorial in the Kranji War Cemetery but it had said the name would not be erased.
The spy Heenan, who was found guilty at a court martial, was never executed because the Japanese invasion broke the lines of communication and the death warrant was never signed. He was killed by a military policeman as the Japanese closed in to prevent him being freed by the invading forces.

KUALA LUMPUR: A 25-year-old man, detained since July 28 last year under the Internal Security Act on suspicion of being a foreign spy, was released on Tuesday.
This follows a recent visit by the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia to Kamunting detention centre to investigate allegations of ill-treatment of K. Sanjeev Kumar. The allegations were made by his wife, Sharmila Uthiakumar.
Suhakam commissioner Datuk Siva Subramaniam said at a press conference here they found that Sanjeev Kumar, whose left arm and leg were paralysed, did not receive the treatment he required.
He said the Abolish ISA Movement had referred Sanjeev Kumar's case to Suhakam through a memorandum on June 4.
Sharmila had on May 20 lodged a police report against the Home Ministry, police and the Kamunting detention centre claiming her husband had been tortured. She had also claimed her husband had become wheelchair-bound because of the torture

I just want everyone here to know how the British waged war in this part of the world-by killing innocent people at times, and then denying the facts.......just the the Japs in Nanking, now the Brits deny the Batang Kali killings......
Did anyone say to the Japs "it was 50 years ago" so forget the rape of Nanking?
the white are hypocrites, and yet people here still worship whites as gods.
The latest hypocrisy is how they invaded Iraq and then cursed the Russians for doing the same to Georgia.
Too many people like to smell the fart of the British and the Americans.....esp in Singapore.......

Wed, Aug 20, 2008
AFPKUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIAN activists are seeking an apology from Britain for the 1948 massacre of 24 unarmed villagers by British troops during the start of a crackdown against a rising communist insurgency.
The killings, known here as the 'Batang Kali massacre,' occurred in central Selangor state on Dec 12, 1948 when 14 members of the Scots Guards killed unarmed Chinese villagers and torched their village.
Cabinet minister Ong Tee Keat, who was present at the signing on Wednesday of a petition calling for an official apology and compensation, said the history of the guerrilla war between colonial British forces and the Communist-led Malayan National Liberation Army should be accurately portrayed.
'This event has been glossed over by the colonial government administration. This has been kept under the rug for so long,' Mr Ong told AFP.
'What these people are seeking really is historical redress as those that were killed have for long been described as bandits and Communist sympathisers,' he added.
Quek Ngee Meng, head of the Campaign Condemning the Batang Kali Massacre said the group wanted Britain to apologise and hold a public inquiry into the killings.
'Let us show our evidence and if we have proven our case then meet our demands. If the outcome favours the British government, then we will stop this protest,' he said.
In March, the group had demanded 80 million pounds (S$210 million) from London as compensation for the incident but has yet to receive a response.
Mr Quek said an earlier British inquiry in 1970 had been halted in order to protect the reputation of the military.
Mr Ong, who is vice president of the Malaysian Chinese Association, a key party in the ruling coalition, said the matter should be discussed by both countries.
'I have raised this with our foreign ministry and they will have to decide if it can be pursued further (on a government level with Britain).'

Taliban fighter wearing dead French soldier's uniform.
=======================
A picture of a Taliban fighter in the uniform of a dead French soldier drew anger in France Wednesday as the army came under new fire over its conduct in an ambush that killed 10 paratroopers in Afghanistan last month.
Paris Match magazine was condemned by politicians, the military and soldiers' families for publishing a spread of Taliban posing with their French trophies from the battle, east of Kabul, on August 18. These included Famas assault rifles, helmets, body armor, walkie-talkies and a wristwatch that the Taliban asked the magazine to return to the family of the soldier who had owned it.

Seems as if the Taliban is winning...........or is it the French losing as usual?
Is the US trying to cover up anything?

O come on, the commandos did not go in blind. Of course the Commandos knew that the hijackers were armed with knives and forks. But I think killing them all is perfectly ok with me........ no problem......they deserve to die......
But don't get personal here lah.......no name calling please. It's unbecoming of citizens of a first world nation.

But then some people need to be taught not to spit and litter, something deep rooted in their low class immigrant peasant culture I guess.

Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Ahmad Ismail called Chinese "Squatters". His supporters then took the photo of the former chief Minister of Penang Koh Tsu Khoon and tore it to shreds. Both Ahmad and Koh belonged to the same party, the Barisan Nasional.

If they can do this to fellow members of the same coalition party, imagine what they can do to Anwar.
Imagine what they will do to Singaporean politicians if they step on Malaysian feet !!!!!

Hello all, I am back after a nap.......
About the RSN.
Yes, this Navy was the best in chasing away Vietnamese refugees.
Malaysian Navy allowed refugees to land at Pulau Bidong and the Indonesian Navy helped them land at Pulau Galang. Singapore Navy merely gave the refugees food, water and then led them out in their leaky boats to the South China Sea to drown by the hundreds. Don't believe me? Ask the old timers. The RSN all have blood on their hands, the blood of the drowned Vietnamese refugees, many of whom were actually oversea-Chinese.
And the Singapore Commandos.......yes, the heros who killed the Pakistani hijackers at Changi Airport, hijackers armed to the teeth with butter knives and forks.....all killed even when they could not defend themselves. By the way, their leader had just become the new Pakistani President yesterday. Let's see if he has forgiven Singapore.
Anyway, I am waiting for some action at the Gulf of Aden....these are real heros who fought in real battles

Three Malaysian navy ships arrive off Somalia (New Straits Times)
KUALA LUMPUR: Hope has sprung anew for the families of the 63 Malaysians held hostage in Somalia as three Royal Malaysian Navy vessels arrived in the region.
The vessels, with commandos on board, were believed to have arrived at the Gulf of Aden yesterday. They are the new-generation offshore patrol vessel KD Pahang, frigate KD Lekiu and support ship KD Sri Inderapura. The Malaysian hostages from Bunga Melati Dua and Bunga Melati Lima are being held at the village of Eyl in northeastern Somalia. The Malaysians are among 191 hostages held by Somalian pirates since July 20. The pirates had hijacked at least nine ships in recent weeks.
RMN chief Admiral Datuk Abdul Aziz Jaafar said the ships were well-equipped with armaments and personnel to receive the hostages when they were freed.
"This includes providing them first aid, water and food. Our mission is also to escort the MISC Bhd vessels home once the episode is over," he said, adding that they were ready for any eventuality.
Pirates seized palm oil tanker Bunga Melati Dua in the gulf between Somalia and Yemen on Aug 19. A Filipino sailor was killed.
Ten days later, Bunga Melati Lima was hijacked in the same area. The pirates have reportedly demanded a RM10 million ransom for the two ships and their crew.
Aziz said hijacking was a major threat unlike before when only robberies occurred.
The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) identified four main piracy gangs operating in the trade route, which links the Red Sea with the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Canal, where commodities like oil, grain, iron ore and timber are shipped.
The gangs, armed with rocket-propelled grenades and high-powered boats, are from the Somali Marines, the National Volunteer Coast Guard, the Marka Group and the Puntland Group.
Led by warlord Abdi Mohamed Afweyne, the Somali Marines are the most powerful in the impoverished region which has a 3,025km coastline.

Report from BBC on the situation in Somalia :
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7600177.stm
The seas off Somalia, close to busy shipping routes, have some of the highest rates of piracy in the world. The country has been without a functioning central government for 17 years and has suffered from continual civil strife.
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said the ships being deployed would provide protection for five MISC Berhad vessels, and would not launch rescue operations.
Counting ships
Officials in the semi-autonomous Somali region of Puntland say the ships are being held at the port of Eyl, a lawless outpost controlled by gangs.
Puntland's minister for mines, who is leading a delegation to investigate the hijackings, told the BBC Somali Service from a hill overlooking the port that he could count eight captured vessels. He said another two were reported to be on their way to Eyl.
The delegation had spoken to local elders, he said, but it had not approached the pirates. The latest vessel to be hijacked was an Egyptian ship which was reported missing on Thursday. Earlier this week a French sailing boat with two crew was seized. Pirates holding that boat are reportedly seeking a ransom of more than $1m (£0.56m).
Puntland's ports minister said after the capture of the French boat that pirates in the region were well-armed and employ a lot of people. He said there was little co-ordination between those trying to tackle them.
In June, the UN Security Council voted to allow countries to send warships into Somalia's waters to tackle the pirates, but the ports minister complained that international vessels "don't intervene".

Now why is Singapore so quiet? One of the ships held hostage was actually coming to Singapore.....
Singapore SAF damn useless lah, as usual......no bolls to make decision.....

Three navy vessels to protect Malaysian ships in Gulf of Aden
By ZULKIFLI ABD RAHMAN
newsdesk@thestar.com.myKUALA LUMPUR: Three Malaysian Navy ships are on their way to the Middle East to provide security cover for Malaysian ships sailing the pirate-infested Gulf of Aden.
A Malaysian Navy frigate, KD Lekiu, and a support ship have reached the Maldives and are heading to the gulf while a third ship – KD Pahang – will leave Malaysia soon for the Gulf of Aden.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that an unspecified number of soldiers from the navy, army and the air force aboard the three ships would be tasked to protect the five vessels of the Malaysia International Shipping Corporation Bhd (MISC) now sailing in the pirate-infested area.
The ships were also carrying several helicopters with them, he told reporters after receiving food parcels and cash donations from various organisations for members of the Armed Forces at the Defence Ministry here at a ceremony attended by Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, who is president of Members of the Association of Ministers and Deputy Ministers Wives (Bakti).
Najib was commenting on the hijacking of two MISC ships – the Bunga Melati Dua and Bunga Melati Lima – and kidnapping of their crewmen, including 65 Malaysians by Somali pirates off the Gulf of Aden last week.
The kidnapped crew were safe according to latest indications and the authorities were in contact with those who had seized the MISC ships, he said, but declined to say more for fear of compromising the negotiations.
Najib said there was no necessity for Malaysia to inform the United Nations (UN) of its intentions to send its fleet there but he would touch on the situation in a speech he would present at the UN in New York on Sept 29.

Go Malaysia..........kill the Somali terrorist bastards........just like you did the last time during the "Black Hawk Down" incident..... ......
As for Singapore Navy.......I say you are a joke........you are the best in SE Asia, but you lack the political will to fight.....not like the Royal Malaysian Navy who dares to go Africa even.....

The Georgians were stupid.
They believed the lies of NATO and the US. They believed the West would support them.
The fact is NATO and the US will not shed blood for some remote ex-Soviet state. The West cannot take heavy casualties, unlike Russia.

Georgian tank burns

Civilian casualty after Russian air raid
=================
Let's hope the Singapore leaders can see through the unreliability of the USA as an ally. Let's hope Singapore is not as stupid as Georgia as to trust the West. Singapore must stand on her own. Trust no one except yourself. Even China will not help even if there are thousands of Foreign Talent from China working in Singapore and the majority population is 75% ethnic Chinese.
Trust only your own weapon. And when we fight, we fight to kill and destroy permanently. We cannot afford a Gaza Strip situation.
