After i reset the router........it's ok again.

Who is corrupting my router? Starhub?

It must be their silent 'upgrading' the system that causes conflicts with my existing systems. Icon_evil

    • Do you think MINDEF will cover up the commanders who made this NS man do exercises when he was on MC? Icon_evil

SINGAPORE: 20—year—old Private Joe Foo Wei Rong who died at Lim Chu Kang Camp on Tuesday morning had been given three days of medical leave on Sunday for a hamstring strain.

Relatives and friends learnt of this as they paid their last respects to the full—time National Serviceman at the Ubi Teochew Parlour on Wednesday afternoon.

Private Foo collapsed while doing chin—ups at Lim Chu Kang camp. The Ministry of Defence said he was brought to hospital where he died shortly after.

It’s learnt that Mindef is investigating why Private Foo was training while on medical leave.

Private Foo will be cremated at Mandai Crematorium on Thursday morning.

Many remember him as an athletic young man who liked to play basketball.

Clifton Seah, the cousin of Private Foo, said: "I’m very shocked. He was a fine young man. My brother was on the phone with him barely 12 hours before he died. It’s a great loss." — CNA

Will they examine policies and Standard operating procedures? Will they just take action against the platoon commander and cover up cock ups in higher management? Can MINDEF be trusted?

Or is Pte Foo expendable.......just another person to be stepped on by those who grow fat on their superscale salaries?

    • STOMPer A said that he was at Chinatown buy a pair of shoes when a lady with a Chinese accent approached him, ‘asking him if he wants to have sex with her’.

The 30-year-old, who works in sales, was shocked at her bold approach.

He was crossing the large overhead bridge near People’s Park Complex at around 5pm, when she asked him the question.

The STOMPer recounted: “She came up to me and asked me in Mandarin if ‘I wanted it or not’.

“I asked her, ‘What is it?’

“She said, ‘Do you want to go to hotel or not?’

“I then asked her how much was she charging and she quoted me one hundred dollars.

“I told her it was too expensive and told her that twenty dollars was all I could afford.

“She declined and walked towards the old man with her friend in the picture, which I snapped.

    • The man who spent too much time posting on Speakers Corner and didn't had time to make friends .......... one day he woke up at aged 65 to find that the people he was communicating with were not his friends at all.......just faceless nics like Fireicey, noisylioness, badmary, theBearer, Andrewyip, Poh ah Pek..........some had gone silent over the years, probably gone forever to the eternal blue screen in the sky......

He should have dumped his computer and got out to join real people at the Community Clubs, tour groups, religious groups or youth groups....

Now he can join the old folks at the void deck, but he does not speak on the same wavelength.....so he stays at home, watching his TV and hoping some kind neighbour would foot the repair bill to his trusty ancient laptop which he still hides under his bed....

Sometimes he would try to switch on the laptop, but his ancient Vista OS wouldn't even load......he stares at the screen blankly, and sheds a little tear........

    • Table Tennis-Singapore set for rare medal

      <!-- end article-header -->

      • Reuters
      • , Friday August 15 2008
      (adds match details)
      By Simon Rabinovitch
BEIJING, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Singapore was guaranteed their first Olympic medal since 1960 -- and only its second of all time -- when they beat South Korea on Friday to advance to the women's team championship in table tennis.
A weightlifting silver in 1960 in Rome has stood as the city-state's only Olympic medal.
Singapore will face the winner of a semi-final between China and Hong Kong. If Singapore's women lose the championship match on Sunday, they would still take home the silver.
Fired up by a vocal pro-Singapore crowd, world number nine Feng Tianwei was the key player, launching the contest with a rapid-fire win in the first match and closing it with a classy and controlled victory in the tense final match.
Singapore beat the previously undefeated South Korea three matches to two in the best-of-five contest.
Fans were treated to perhaps the finest table tennis of the Olympics yet in a match between Beijing-born Li Jia Wei, Singapore's top player at world number six, and Kim Kyung-ah, South Korea's best at 11th.
The contrasting styles of Li's aggressive topspin and Kim's defensive chops proved the perfect blend for rallies that regularly topped 20 hits.
Li, who has been frazzled by nerves on big occasions before, showed impatience toward the end, rushing her forehand. Kim fell to her knees after sealing the win, 5-11 11-8 9-11 11-6 and 11-9.
But Li rebounded in the next match, pairing up with world number seven Wang Yue Gu to swat aside their Korean opponents in doubles play, 11-7 11-6 and 11-9.
Wang dropped the next match in straight games to Korea's Dang Ye-seo, bringing Singapore's unflappable Feng back to the table for the deciding match. Despite the acrobatics of Korea's Park Mi-young, Feng prevailed 11-7 12-10 3-11 and 11-9, winning when the Korean committed a rare error, faulting on her serve.
The three Singaporean players were all born in China, as was their coach, Liu Guodong, the brother of China's men's coach.
Though they have been the most successful of the many Chinese table tennis emigres around the world, they have not always had the full backing of native Singaporeans.
Li has lived in Singapore for 13 years, but she speaks little English -- its language of government and commerce -- and instead prefers to converse in Mandarin.

    • I cannot migrate

If I migrate, wife would have to stay at home to look after the kids.

So I stay in Singapore and get maid to do all the housework. So wife can go out to work. As a graduate, she would not want to stay at home and cook, wash, and change diapers.  She is a graduate, he wants to be lady boss, not housewife.....

So how to migrate? Unless I migrate to Indonesia where I can have 2 maids, 1 gardener and 1 driver for $100 each....

I was just wondering how come some educated Sinagpore women can choo to migrate and become housewives in USA, Canada, Australia, or Europe?

Would you choose to be a Housewife in Australia?

      Housewife.......becoming extinct in Singapore soon.....

    • California bans restaurants from using trans fats

By STEVE LAWRENCE, Associated Press Writer

      Saturday, July 26, 2008

      <!-- /.boxitem -->

      <!-- /#articlebox -->

      (07-26) 03:43 PDT Sacramento, Calif. (AP) --

California on Friday became the first state to ban trans fats from restaurant food, following several cities and major fast-food chains in erasing the notorious artery-clogger from menus.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation that will ban restaurants and other retail food establishments from using oil, margarine and shortening containing trans fats.

In a statement, Schwarzenegger noted that consuming trans fat is linked to coronary heart disease.

"Today we are taking a strong step toward creating a healthier future for California," he said.

Violations could result in fines of $25 to $1,000. Food items sold in their manufacturers' sealed packaging would be exempt.

New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, Baltimore and Montgomery County, Md., have ordinances banning trans fats, but California is the first state to adopt such a law covering restaurants, said Amy Winterfeld, a health policy analyst for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

California and Oregon already had laws banning trans fats in meals served at schools, she added.

      Governor of California bans trans-fat........

Will Singapore government also ban ? Or will fast food chains give donations to PAP to turn a blind eye and let them continue to poison Singaporeans?

    • Today $590 from CPF monthly is ok.

In 2030, 32 years from now..........maybe your economic rice would cost $30 a plate....

In 1908, one plate costs 3 cents

In 1958, one plate costs 30 cents

In 2008, one plate cost $3 (300 cents)

The price  increased 100 times in 100 years.

Only 3 cents in 1908.........today $3.........tommorrow how much?

When we are old........how much? can afford or not?

So better raise a family.....you will need a family when you are old....

Growing old with family members around you......this should be the ideal situation....
