    • The other: "How are you?"

You: " Fine, thank you" or "Ok".

The other: "How do you do."

You reply: "How do you do." (and not "Fine, thank you.")

      i'm still leaning driving btw.

is it because that i'm not used to being on the right side of the car?

how can i get rid of this? confused.png

      1. The problem could be with the car you are driving, its alignment may be off, or there is a heavy load on one side of the car..

      2. Could be your eyes, you might have one lazy eye, only one eye is focused, the other just  blurr.

      3. Could be no problem at all, just neglecting to correct the steering periodically.

      Most likely its No.3.

    • "to walk away from me without even turning her head to see if i'm after her..."

Seems like I have read this line before.

"My question, most importantly, is: "Is there any way to change her temperament?". We had many talks about this & she would always tell me she won't get angry so easy anymore... But time after time, she does. I'm feeling really helpless..."

Answer: 1 No way, she will change her temperamant. And 2, yes, you are helpless.

And if you have learnt nothing from your last post on this subject, I believe you will learn nothing from this post either.

      Shut up and suffer.

I have seen quite a few noobs comming in to this forum, innocent like, making inquires, asking questions, but soon morph into a full fledge anti-goverment troll. The transition from uncertainity (in posts) to hard core triade is less than six months. I suspect a seasoned troll masquerading under a new nick, to emulate conversion.

      Ah! the game of deception.

    • bf loves me but also love PRC woman

Well done, a fine example of faith in your loved one.
Don't you wonder what he is saying to the PRC woman?
He is saying exactly the same thing, and doing the same things too.
If he is genuine in his love on both sides, then he is not the problem.
The problem is you and the PRC woman. Both of you should meet and come to an amicable compromise. Who is to be wife and who is to be 1st concubine.
Believe me, 2nd and 3rd will be comming later. So the both of you better negotiate your standing with your prized catch.
      Dump him!

    • How fast you accelerate off is not important, what is important is that you be alert to the light change. When the green light comes on, move! It is very annoying to be four, five cars behind, and be caught by the red light again, just because the lead driver is dreaming. And watch out for green arrows too. Many times, I have seen drivers waiting to turn, but not moving when the green arrow comes on in their favour.

People usually do not regret what they do. They always regret what they did not do.

    • quote from comment by Gerald Giam

"I once asked a former Supreme Court judge why the courts always ruled in favour of PAP ministers who were suing opposition members. His reply was that most of those cases should have never been brought to court.

Once they were, however, the judges had no choice but to judge according to the letter of the law, which in Singapore is very strict when it comes to defamation."

Besides the who, invention, fear...... there is also the context. Civil suits end up in court only as a last recourse. The first being settlement out of court. When that fails, then both parties goes to court.

In defamation suits, the defendent has the opportunity to make an offer of amends. If the offer of amends is accepted by the plaintiff, and duly performed, no proceedings may be continued by the plaintiff. That is what the judge meant. Once it goes to court, the letter of the law is applied.

In court the plaintiff must prove:

      1. The words must be defamatory.

      2. They must refer to the plaintiff.

      3. They must be "maliciously" said.

The good judge always shakes his head, that the defendants choose to go to court. That what he meant when he said that those cases should never have been brought to court. Its the plaintiff right to sue, when he has a case. The defendant should assess his own position, and not expect the plaintiff to give "chance lah".

    • Have you changed your diet?

At one time I held oil to be taboo, and avoided all oily food, what happened was that my hair went dry and wiry. Now I just watch the amount of stuff oily stuff I take. My hair is back to normal glossy and oily.

    • Some on-line job agents will black list candidates that fail to turn up for interviews. Just formally decline the interview, with apologies. No need to give reasons, but if asked say that you are not free for the time being. Maybe some other time. This way you don't get into the black list.

    • Singapore is such a small island, I don't know why it can't rain all over the island or be sunny all over.  Many times I face the situation of rain at my block, but sunny 200m away, and vice versa. Yesterday morning (07/06/2008) sunny at Bedok Reservoir, rain at Tampinese Ave 10 and TPE, and sunny at Lentor Ave.
