I bought a DSLR lens filter from ebay. It has been shipped as register mail. Using the tracking number, i went to singpost.com to check my item status. I was suprise to see
DELIVERY ATTEMPTED, NOTIFICATION CARD ISSUED on 7/9/10.
Today is 12/09/10 and I did not see any notification card? I do have the tracking number. What can I do? Its a $60+ item.
Call Singpost to say you have not received the notification card and tell them about the status of your registered mail.
I usually get notification cards from them when I happen not to be at home (though I am actually at home - They didnt even bother to knock the door or ring the bell, just throw the card outside).
They usually slot it on my doors or throw it on the floor of my home. The cleaner could have swept the card away while doing cleaning at your corridor.
I can tell you, some postmen are so lazy, they won't even have attempted to try knocking on your door. They would just write the notification card and slip it under your door.
Then there are some who will just squeeze every farking thing into the mailbox you have at your lift lobby regardless of size. And then the only way to get the item out, is to pry open your letterbox with a flathead screwdriver.![]()

Haha... I called Singpost to complain so many times... They dare not do this to me anymore.... They always knock my door these days. =)
Yup. I experienced the other one too.... I had to call Singpost and tell them.... can you please take out the parcel that is stucked inside my mailbox??? Cos he can squeeze from postman side... but the customer cannot because there's a metal bar knob to opening the mailbox.... which makes the mailbox size 5cm smaller....
call them with ur tracking number and tell them u did not get the notification
they shd be able to trace it
undelivered items will be in holding for 2 weeks before sending back to sender
they dont work on weekends btw.
hi TS,
u must quickly go to ur hme nearest Singpost to check whether is ur item is wif them..
or if the postman did throw a note to u indicating which Singpost tat u hav to go n collect it, pls do it as soon as possible(i tink ur item can onli stay @ Singpost for a max of 10days, there after, they will return it to the sender)
else, ur item will be send back to the sender(overseas)..
and u hav to wait for another 2 weeks or so to get back ur item(if im not mistaken, if Singpost send back ur item, its via shipment, duration-wise cfm will be longer)
as i hav been thru it twice, its sibei sian one, haha..
even if u go the nearest PO to check, they still wanna have the notification slip
or somehow prove tt u are the intended receiver
but the item may not be there, it may be oredi back at singpost (paya lebar)
which u have to arrange for redelivery to ur home (make sure someone at home) or to a convenient post office where u go there and pick it up
That's why I hate home delivery. I prefer it be sent to the nearest post office, and I pick up from there. Preferably extend post office opening times to 8pm on weekdays, I don't need them to work weekends.
